Delightful butter cookies that are golden and crispy on the outside, soft inside, and melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (227g) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  4. Gently sift in the flour and salt, and mix until just combined.
  5. Form uniform balls of dough, about 1 inch in diameter, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  7. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a variation, add chocolate chips or nuts to the dough. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
