A weeknight hero with golden seared chicken breasts in a silky garlic butter sauce, finished with smoked paprika and honey for a balanced flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic butter: In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Season the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat the skillet: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear the chicken: Add the chicken and cook for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through to 165°F internal temperature.
  5. Rest the chicken: Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate to rest.
  6. Deglaze the pan: Add the chicken broth to the skillet and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  7. Make the sauce: Stir the prepared garlic butter mixture into the skillet until melted and combined with the broth.
  8. Finish and serve: Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over it, and let simmer for 1 to 2 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a serving platter, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

Patting the chicken dry before seasoning helps achieve a browned crust. Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
