Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • Zest of 1 large orange
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and eggs; stir in the orange zest.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the lined baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
