  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together until creamy and smooth (3-4 minutes).
  3. Gradually add sugar and mix until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing fully after each addition.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cake cool for 15 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
