Ingredients
Scale
4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
6 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Gather and measure all ingredients. Place the chopped semi-sweet chocolate, granulated sugar, heavy cream, light corn syrup, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt into a medium saucepan set over medium heat.
Whisk the mixture together until smooth, ensuring the chocolate melts evenly.
Bring the mixture to a boil, whisking occasionally to prevent sticking.
Let it boil for 3 minutes while continuing to whisk.
Remove from heat and stir in the softened butter and pure vanilla extract until well combined.
Use the hot fudge immediately, or allow it to cool and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Notes
If the sauce thickens too much after refrigeration, warm it gently and stir in a splash of cream to loosen it.
