Delightful healthy churro bites made in an air fryer, offering all the crispy, sugary charm of traditional churros with a healthier twist.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, coconut oil, and salt over medium heat. Once it begins to simmer, remove from heat and stir in the flour until fully combined.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll into small, bite-sized pieces about 1 inch long.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil. Place churro bites in a single layer in the basket and cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  6. In a small bowl, combine coconut sugar and cinnamon. Toss churro bites in the mixture while still warm.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with chocolate sauce or fresh fruit for dipping!

Notes

Store churro bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
