A delicious and easy-to-prepare twist on the classic Philadelphia sandwich featuring tender ground beef, sautéed peppers, onions, and melted cheese in a hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Sauté sliced onion and bell pepper for about 4-5 minutes until tender.
  2. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up, and season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir the sautéed veggies into the beef and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Lower the heat, place cheese slices on top, cover, and cook for 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
  5. Toast hoagie rolls in the oven or toaster.
  6. Assemble the cheesesteaks by spooning the beef mixture into each toasted hoagie roll and serve warm.
