A delightful fusion of grilled cheese and burrito, combining gooey cheese with a crispy tortilla for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • Flour tortillas
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Cooked protein (optional): Grilled chicken, beef, or beans
  • Vegetables: Bell peppers, onions, or spinach
  • Butter or oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine your choice of cooked protein and vegetables. If using raw veggies, sauté them until tender.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one tortilla in the skillet for about 10-15 seconds until it’s warm and pliable.
  3. Sprinkle a generous layer of cheese on the center of the tortilla.
  4. Spoon your prepared filling over the cheese, being careful not to overfill.
  5. Fold the sides of the tortilla in and roll it up tightly from the bottom. Place the burrito seam-side down in the hot skillet.
  6. Brush the top with butter or oil and grill for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Flip it over to achieve the same texture on the other side, ensuring the cheese melts perfectly.
  8. Carefully slice the burrito in half and serve warm with salsa or guacamole.

Notes

Serve with a fresh salad or cilantro lime rice for a complete meal. Consider using a non-stick skillet for best results.
