Ingredients

Scale
  • to 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs or chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 45 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 23 tbsp parsley (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional)
  • ½ cup chicken broth (optional)
  • lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Parmesan cheese (optional for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels. In a bowl, season the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tbsp olive oil. Place the chicken in a single layer and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown. Flip the chicken and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. Add butter and the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil to the same skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in chicken broth if using and let it simmer for 1 to 2 minutes to slightly reduce.
  5. Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Stir in chopped parsley and hot sauce if using.
  6. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

For extra heat, stir in more hot sauce and red pepper flakes. To enjoy a milder version, omit these ingredients.
