Ingredients
Scale
2 cups of orzo pasta
1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken thighs
2 large onions, sliced
4 cloves of garlic, minced
3 cups of chicken broth
1 cup of heavy cream
1 cup of shredded Gruyere cheese
2 tablespoons of olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Sauté for about 15 minutes until soft and golden brown.
Add minced garlic to the skillet, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant. Then, add chicken thighs, searing for about 5 minutes on each side until lightly browned.
In a mixing bowl, combine onions, garlic, chicken, orzo, chicken broth, heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it evenly.
Sprinkle shredded Gruyere cheese over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
