  • 450 grams Italian sausage
  • 700 milliliters marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 200 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 65 grams chopped bacon
  • Pepperoni slices, as desired
  • 710 grams frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the vegetables: Dice the onion and chop the bacon if it is not pre-chopped.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Sauté the onion: Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  5. Cook the Italian sausage: Add the Italian sausage to the skillet and break it up with a spoon. Cook until browned throughout. Drain excess grease if needed.
  6. Add the seasonings: Stir in the Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper.
  7. Combine with marinara sauce: Pour in the marinara sauce and mix well. Add the chopped bacon and desired pepperoni slices, stirring to combine.
  8. Incorporate ravioli: Gently stir the frozen cheese ravioli into the skillet mixture until they are evenly coated.
  9. Transfer to baking dish: Place the mixture into a large baking dish and spread it evenly.
  10. Top with cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the top, adding extra bacon or pepperoni if desired.
  11. Bake the dish: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
  12. Broil for crispness: Remove the foil and place the dish under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes, until the topping is golden and crisp.
  13. Serve: Allow the bake to cool slightly before serving it warm for optimal taste and texture.

Notes
