A warm and sweet pastry filled with creamy cheese, perfect for brunch or afternoon tea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface and cut into squares or rectangles (about 4 inches wide).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  4. Place a heaping tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold the corners towards the center and pinch to seal.
  5. Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg.
  6. Arrange them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, reheat in the oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
