These Browned Butter Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies are warm, nutty, and deeply comforting, with a perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, cooking until it foams and the milk solids brown lightly. Let cool slightly.
  3. Combine the cooled browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar; mix until smooth. Add eggs one at a time and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture until just incorporated.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  6. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden and centers look set. Let cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For uniform cookies, chill the dough 15 minutes before scooping. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
