  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Optional: sprinkles or crushed peppermint candies for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and any optional toppings.
  7. Drop rounded dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
