Easy and Flavorful Chinese Beef and Broccoli

A delightful stir-fry featuring tender beef and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain and marinate with half of the soy sauce, ginger, and garlic for 15 minutes.
  2. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and cool under cold water.
  3. In a skillet or wok, heat oil until shimmering.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds, then toss in the blanched broccoli and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet and add remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce. Heat through for 2 minutes.
  7. Pour in the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

Serve with rice or noodles and a side salad for a complete meal.
