Delightful bite-sized treats combining tender apples and warm spices, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Glaze (optional): powdered sugar and milk or water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel, core, and dice the apples into small cubes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg. Stir in the diced apples.
  5. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed. Drop spoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Optional: Prepare glaze and drizzle over warm fritters.

Notes

These bites can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
