A comforting and family-friendly melt with savory ground beef, gooey cheese, and crispy bread, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium Onion, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 slices Bread (thick-sliced, preferably sourdough)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Optional spices: Paprika, Oregano

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, and optional spices. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Stir in diced onion and minced garlic, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  3. Reduce heat to low and stir in 1½ cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Remove from heat.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread and layer the remaining cheese on the uncooked side.
  5. Spread an even amount of the beef mixture onto two slices of bread, then top with another slice to form a sandwich.
  6. Cook the sandwiches in the skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite cheeses or vegetables. These melts can also be made in a skillet, slow cooker, or air fryer.
