Delightful butterscotch bars that are easy to make with a rich, buttery flavor and a chewy texture. Perfect for family gatherings or a cozy treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and softened butter. Cream until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet mixture until combined.
  5. Fold in the butterscotch chips.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then cut into squares and serve.
