Scale
  • 1 box butter or yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup whole milk

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Combine the cake mix, 3 large eggs, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1 cup whole milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a large bowl. Whisk until smooth.

  7. Simmer the mixture for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently.
  8. Remove the sauce from heat and stir in remaining chopped pecans, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
