Delicious cookies combining crispy, sweet, and creamy flavors reminiscent of the classic Puppy Chow treat.

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups Rice Chex or similar cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cream until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract; mix until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet ingredients, mixing gently.
  5. Fold in the Rice Chex and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop cookie dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are set but soft.
  8. Allow cooling for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using different nut butters or chocolate chips. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
