Delightful bars combining a rich, nutty filling with a buttery crust, capturing the comforting essence of classic pecan pie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup golden corn syrup
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt. Stir until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9×9-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake the crust for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Fold in chopped pecans.
  6. Pour filling over pre-baked crust, spreading evenly.
  7. Bake again for 25-30 minutes, until the filling is set and caramelized on top.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Drizzling melted chocolate on top can make it more kid-friendly.
