  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using a large ice cream scoop or a ¼ cup measure, place dough balls onto a prepared baking sheet, spaced at least 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
