  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, Italian, or thick white)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 4 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley or Italian seasoning (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic powder and optional herbs until well combined.
  2. Evenly spread the garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm up for a couple of minutes.
  4. Place two slices of bread butter-side down in the skillet and layer the shredded cheese evenly on top of each slice.
  5. Top with the remaining slices of bread butter-side up.
  6. Grill for about 4–5 minutes on each side, pressing down slightly with a spatula for even browning.
  7. Once golden brown, remove from skillet, let cool for a minute, and slice diagonally before serving.
