Rich, soft cookies with chocolate and coffee flavors, topped with powdered sugar for a classic crinkle appearance.

  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons brewed coffee or espresso
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, brewed coffee, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and flour.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Cover your bowl with plastic wrap and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Once chilled, scoop dough portions and roll into balls, then coat in powdered sugar.
  7. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set.
  8. Let them cool slightly on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can freeze them for longer storage.
