Creamy Tomato Garlic Pasta

A quick and comforting family favorite that combines rich tomatoes, aromatic garlic, and a luscious creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • Pasta (about 12 oz.)
  • Canned Tomatoes (28 oz.)
  • Garlic (4-5 cloves)
  • Heavy Cream (1 cup)
  • Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • Basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook your pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve about a cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Add the canned tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream until fully incorporated.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper and toss in freshly chopped basil if using.
  7. Plate the pasta and garnish with additional basil or cheese as desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Can be frozen for 2-3 months.
