Deliciously soft and tender Cinnamon Sugar Cookies, coated in a sweet cinnamon sugar mixture for a delightful treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar for rolling
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Scoop dough by tablespoonfuls, rolling each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  7. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are slightly golden.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For a fun twist, add colorful sprinkles to the cinnamon-sugar coating. Store cookies in an airtight container for freshness.
