Soft, chewy cookies bursting with rich chocolatey goodness, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups (155g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (30g) cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the dough on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Roll each portion into a ball and optionally sprinkle coarse salt on top.
  8. Bake for about 10–12 minutes until set but still soft in the center.
  9. Allow to cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Enjoy once completely cool!

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid overbaking for best texture.
