  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup warm water or brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9-inch cake pan to prevent sticking.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine the egg, milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and warm water or coffee. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and sour cream until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack to cool completely.
