Classic chocolate chip cookies that are easy to make and delightful to enjoy, perfect for family gatherings or a sweet treat.

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Add each egg, one at a time, mixing until incorporated.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dollops of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers remain soft.
