  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the butter and sugar blend until just blended.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure your butter is at room temperature for easier creaming. Store the cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
