Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (15.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 bag (11 oz) caramel bits or soft caramel candies
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, and melted butter. Stir until smooth and lump-free.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  4. Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the batter, covering as much of the surface as possible.
  5. Sprinkle the caramel bits and chocolate chips across the surface.
  6. Gently swirl through the batter with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For a salted caramel twist, add a pinch of salt to the batter. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
