Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Spices (cumin, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, salt)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pita bread or wraps for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and spices. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C) or oven to 425°F (220°C).
  3. Cook marinated chicken in the air fryer for about 25 minutes or roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  4. Prepare garlic sauce by mixing minced garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl and refrigerate.
  5. Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Warm pita bread, spread garlic sauce, add sliced chicken and your favorite toppings.
  7. Fold your shawarma, take a bite, and enjoy the flavors!
