A comforting casserole featuring crispy hash browns, ground beef, and gooey cheese that is perfect for family dinners and potlucks.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 (30-ounce) package frozen hash browns
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 7-10 minutes until fully cooked; drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the browned beef, thawed hash browns, cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, garlic powder, and half of the cheddar cheese. Stir until evenly mixed, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let the casserole cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

You can easily substitute the ground beef with turkey or chicken, and make it vegetarian by using plant-based protein.
