  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter, stirring frequently until it turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with both the brown and granulated sugars. Stir until well blended. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, stirring until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  7. Scoop tablespoons of the chilled dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.
