Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken or beef bones
  • 2 Carrots, chopped
  • 2 Celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp Thyme
  • 2 tsp Parsley
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Gather your bones, chopped vegetables, herbs, and apple cider vinegar.
  2. Roast the bones (optional): Place bones in a preheated oven at 450°F (230°C) for 30 minutes.
  3. Add everything to a pot: Combine the roasted bones, chopped vegetables, herbs, and apple cider vinegar in a large pot.
  4. Fill with water: Pour in enough water to cover all ingredients, about 8 cups.
  5. Simmer: Bring to a boil then reduce to a simmer. Cook for 12-24 hours.
  6. Strain the broth: Use a fine-mesh sieve to remove solids.
  7. Season and store: Add salt and pepper to taste, cool before storing.
