Indulge in the delightful flavors of this Banana Split Dump Cake, a simple yet satisfying dessert combining ripe bananas, crushed pineapple, cherry pie filling, and a buttery yellow cake mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Layer the sliced bananas evenly on the bottom of the greased dish.
  3. Spoon the drained crushed pineapple over the bananas, spreading it out evenly.
  4. Gently spread the cherry pie filling on top of the pineapple layer.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly across the fruit layers, ensuring full coverage.
  6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts and semisweet chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  9. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream and garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired.

Notes

Make sure to drain the crushed pineapple well to avoid a soggy bottom. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
