A warm and comforting dessert featuring tender baked apples topped with a buttery, cinnamon-spiced crumble.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples (mixed tart and sweet, like Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • ¾ cup sugar (granulated or brown)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup butter (chilled, unsalted)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free alternative)
  • ½ cup oats (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Toss them with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl.
  3. In another bowl, combine chilled butter and flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in oats if desired.
  4. Spread the apples evenly in a greased 9×9-inch baking dish and sprinkle the crumble topping over them.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the apples are bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Feel free to customize with different types of fruit or add nuts to the crumble topping for added crunch.
